In 2011, he pleaded no contest to a charge of having sexual intercourse with an underage girl who attended a dance studio where he worked as a teacher. Furthermore, he said that he felt she was of legal age because she worked behind the studio’s main desk.

He was later sentenced to 135 days in a “pay-to-stay” jail, which he served over the course of two years while continuing to work and travel internationally.
