In 1965, he made his acting debut at the age of 13 on the daytime serial opera “Days of Our Lives.” Similarly, after 6 years, he starred in the Canadian film “The Proud Rider” in 1971. He played Marvin in the TV series “Room 222” from 1972 to 1973. Following these performances, he was cast as a guest star on other TV shows, including Ironside, Phyllis, The Streets of San Francisco, Baretta, Charlie’s Angels, and Black Sheep Squadron, to mention a few.

He had recurring appearances on the sitcom Sons & Daughters in 1974 and the soap opera parody Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman in 1976. Moving on, he co-starred with Ned Beatty in the short-lived comedy Szysznyk and appeared in six episodes of One Day at a Time as Cliff Randall, Barbara Cooper’s crush. Colomby portrayed Tony D’Annunzio, a competitor of his fellow caddy Danny Noonan, in the golf comedy film Caddyshack.

Two years later, he played Brian Schwartz in the sex comedy Porkies. Despite negative reviews, the film was a big success in the United States, grossing more than $100 million. Colomby later played the same character in the film’s two less successful sequels, Porky’s II: The Next Day and Porky’s Revenge!
