After two years in Basel’s junior tennis program, he met Peter Carter. Carter and Roger practiced for four years before Roger entered Switzerland’s tennis academy. He won Wimbledon junior singles and doubles and topped the ITF. In 1992 and 1993, he was a ball boy in Switzerland.
