Ralph Carter made his professional acting and singing debut as a child in the Broadway musical “Raisin,” which was based on Lorraine Hansberry’s drama “A Raisin in the Sun.” He then made his television debut in the CBS sitcom “Good Times,” playing Florida and James Evans, Sryoungest .’s child, Michael Evans. He appeared on the show from 1974 to 1979.

Ralph Carter’s professional music career began in 1975 with the release of the album “When You’re Young and in Love,” for which he also performed on Soul Train. The album’s title song and “Extra, Extra” are charted at Nos. 12 and 10, respectively.

Ralph Carter also appeared in two other Broadway musicals by Galt MacDermot that were flops. Following that, he starred in a Broadway production titled “Dude,” which garnered him accolades, but he, like many other child artists, failed to transition into adult stardom.
