Who is Nargiz Zakirova? Nargiz Zakirova was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on October 6, 1970 (age 49). Bella Lugosi is her stage name, and her full name is Nargiz Pulatovna Zakirova. Po’lat Mordekaev is her father’s name (Drummer in the ensemble, headed by Botir Zakirov). Nargiz was a Bukharian Jew who was unable to participate in the first casting of the television show The Voice in 2012 due to his serious illness. In April 2013, her father sadly died.

She has been performing since she was four years old. Then, at the age of 15, she performed the song Remember Me, which was originally recorded along with other songs for Ali Hamroyev’s film Bride from Vail. The song was performed at the first All-Union TV contest for young singers of the Soviet pop song “Jurmala-86.” She received the audience award at the festival. Her family immigrated to the United States from Uzbekistan in 1995. Nargiz worked in a shop, a video salon, and a tattoo parlor, and performed in restaurants during his first years in New York. In 2001, she released the folktronica album Zolotaya kletka. Sweet Rains Records distributed it online. She also sang in a variety of groups before going solo.

Nargiz made it through three rounds of auditions for the American X-Factor in 2013. She went to the Russian television project The Voice after the organizers did not call back. Nargiz wowed all four judges, but she preferred Leonid Agutin’s squad.
