Luis Suarez began his football career at the age of seven when he moved to Montevideo and joined the Urreta FC youth team. Wilson Pirez had spotted him. Wilson recognized Suarez’s talent and signed him to the National youth team when he was 14 years old. Suarez made his Nacional debut in the Copa Libertadores, an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since the 1960s, against Atlético Junior.
