Latrell Sprewell was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 8, 1970, to Latoska Field and Pamela Sprewell. In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he attended Washington High School.

He made an immediate impact, appearing in 69 games and scoring 15.4 points per game.
