Jerick Hoffer, better known by his stage name Jinkx Monsoon, is a drag artist from the United States. Jinkx Monsoon is a musician, actor, and comedian. Jerick Hoffer was also named the fifth season winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Who is Jinkx Monsoon? On September 18, 1987, Jerick was born. The former Drag Race winner was born in Portland, Oregon, in the United States. Deanne Hoffer’s daughter is Hoffer (mother). After Jerick moved to Seattle, they wrote and starred in several ‘Funny or Die’ webisodes titled Monsoon Season, in which they played “Jinkx Monsoon,” Nick Sahoyah’s overbearing, substances-addled mother. Monsoon also made an appearance in the film “Waxie Moon in Fallen Jewel” in 2011. In June of that year, Seattle videographer Alex Berry released a documentary series focused on Jerick’s life on Youtube.

The drag performer’s favorite film, “Death Becomes Her,” inspired the documentary series “Drag Becomes Him.” Hoffer’s life in and out of drag was discussed and showcased in the series. The series was adapted into a feature-length film in October 2015. Hoffer made his Broadway debut as Moritz in the rock musical Spring Awakening at the Balagan Theater in Seattle in January 2012. Jinkx Monsoon was revealed as one of fourteen drag queens competing on the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race by Logo in November of that year. After seeing Sharon Needles, another character-driven drag queen who starred in the fourth season of the same show, Jerick auditioned for the show.

January Hoffer starred as Hedwig in Moore Theater’s production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch in 2013. Jerick also played Velma Von Tussle in the Seattle Men’s Chorus/5th Avenue Theatre’s production of Hairspray in June of that year.

Hoffer also played Jinkx Monsoon in the original one-act cabaret musical “The Vaudevillians” under the stage name “Kitty Witless.” Hoffer played Tallulah/Dennis in one of the episodes of ‘Blue Bloods’ that aired on January 31, 2014.
