Auston Taylour Matthews, better known as Auston Matthews, was born on September 17, 1997, in San Ramon, California, USA. He is currently 24 years old and a citizen of the United States. Furthermore, he was born under the sign of Virgo and is of Mexican-American descent.

In terms of his parentage, he is the son of Brian Matthews (father) and Ema Matthews (mother) (mother). His father was a collegiate baseball player, while his mother is from Mexico. He has two sisters: Alexandria, his older sister, and Breyana, his younger sister. His parents relocated him to Scottsdale, Arizona when he was a child.

As a child, he liked to accompany his parents to local ‘Phoenix Coyotes’ games. As a result, he developed an interest in ice hockey. He became interested in the game when he was five years old. He used to play baseball and ice hockey as a child, and he was particularly good at baseball.

The ‘Everett Silvertips’ drafted Auston in the ‘WHL Bantam Draft’ in 2012, however, he decided to play for the “US National U17” squad instead. His performance captivates ice hockey enthusiasts. The next year, he played for the “US National U18” squad, collecting 55 goals, 61 assists, and 116 points. He won first place, shattering Patrick Kane’s 2005-2006 ‘National Team Development Program’ record of 102 points.

During his second game with the ‘U-17 NTDP,’ he shattered his femur in a knee-to-knee collision in September 2013. He needed surgery, but by December 2013, he came back with 12 goals and 33 points in 24 games. Later in the season, he also played for the ‘U-18 NTDP.’
