Angelica’s father is half white and half Filipino, and her mother is from Iligan City in the Philippines.

Angelica contracted severe bacterial pneumonia when she was four years old, resulting in septic shock and multiple organ failures. Her kidneys failed, and she developed permanent lung scarring. She was placed in a medically induced coma and was placed on ECMO life support for 12 days.
